    Description

Offered here is a used RPPC showing two young men with a mare and her foal and a puppy
(that can barely be seen in the grass).  This portrait was taken near the dam in Ponca, Nebraska,
a city and county seat of Dixon County.
Ponca is the fourth oldest town in Nebraska.  It was founded in 1856 and named for the Ponca
Indian tribe native to the region.
The young writer of this postcard (apparently Canadian by birth) is indicating that he will register
    for land in Tripp County
(South Dakota) in the near future.  He has already bought a "coach colt
    and Dam" and is planning
to attend a horse race on Saturday in Hartington.
I ship with care to the UNITED STATES ONLY.  Card is in an acid-free sleeve and will be mailed
in a hard sleeve for protection.
