Here is a rare 1949-50 NBA Guide & Record Book from the very first year of the league. The NBL and the BAA had just merged in August 1949 to form the NBA. George Mikan of the Minneapolis Lakers is on the cover. This guide is great because it has individual player photos and bios for every player and coach on every team. Also, there are all the usual historical statistics beginning in 1946. This guide shows some fairly light cover wear. There is a small tear and crease along the bottom edge of the back cover. The tips of a few pages were curled over but I’ve straightened them out. All pages are complete and intact. There is absolutely no writing, stains, tears, tape, mold, mildew, bad smells or any other damage. The inside is very clean. It comes from a smoke free and pet free environment.
